Dal Dy Dir is a charitable organisation, working in partnership with Forest Cottages. We believe that every person deserves the right to take a break, free from fear of judgement or discrimination. We believe in allowing your family to just be a family on holiday; whatever that looks like. We can support you to plan your bespoke respite break depending on your individual requirements.

  • Accessible comfortable cottages in the peaceful Kerry Vale in Montgomeryshire
  • Supportive breaks with expert help, rewarding experiences and great facilities.
  • Respite and therapeutic breaks tailored to your needs in a sensitive friendly environment
  • Expand your potential, learn new skills and build stronger family relationships.

The accommodation we offer includes comfortable and cosy cottages with all the amenities of home.Through daily activities, an individual development plan and ongoing support and encouragement, our supported breaks make a massive difference to challenges that families face when planning a holiday.

Please don’t just take our word for it - here are some of our happy guests' thoughts from the last 2 years

Read what some of our guests have written in our Guest Book

It has been so wonderful not being judged as a family because of
a disability. Dal Dy Dir are a breath of fresh air in that we didn’t feel judged
by our child’s disability.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart; you have made me smile and
feel like a person for a week.It is a therapeutic and healing place of fun. A holiday with unseen ability
to make life seem do-able.
We have done things as a family together which we have NEVER
been able to do. My daughter has never gone to a stranger before, especially being hugged.
She’s usually so shy, she’d never do anything like this normally.

Through our activities we set challenges that are meaningful and raise expectations and build confidence, supporting people to fulfil goals that they have set themselves.  We also believe that families should be acknowledged as the experts in their lives and be supported to make their own decisions and choices. We believe in leaving labels at the gate...

During our early years at Kerry Farm with Papworth Trust and the National Lottery, we put together these videos to explain our work and show how our holidays made a difference to the families who stayed there.

Now based at The Forest, we are building on these foundations to create a most unique holiday exprience for families with disabilties.  The cottages are different but the staff is the same, the village is the same and the property is everything we could wish for.

Here is what one of our regular guests think

girl on tractor

On holiday, nothing was too much trouble. In reality, with disabled families, a coffee and five minutes to sit and do nothing is awesome! Having someone else chase after your little one, means so much, it is a break ! Simple things, yet, these are often impossible. Making the impossible possible, happens here!
